These experiences are designed for families, couples & individuals who would like a local, knowledgeable guide to show them around. Maybe it's your first time in Algonquin Park, or maybe you'd love to explore the outdoors but are not comfortable doing it alone. Let Helen guide you through the park to experience the stunning Canadian landscapes and search for iconic wildlife.
Helen explores the park on a weekly basis year-round and is intimately familiar with its wild residents. Let her introduce you to some of her favourite places and share stories of her wildlife encounters.
ALGONQUIN
Backcountry Adventure
Paddle a canoe down a creek in Algonquin Park's interior that's best known for its wildlife viewing! This adventure is about experiencing the tranquility and beauty of Algonquin's backcountry from a canoe. We'll be spending all our time on the water, gliding through lily pads, and past beaver lodges, as we search for moose, eagles, loons, and other waterfowl. You'll be amazed at how quickly the time goes by, as you experience Algonquin at its finest. This adventure starts and ends with a water taxi ride up the park's largest lake, which is a thrill in itself!
Choose from a 4 hour or 6 hour adventure from June through September.

Whether you're visiting as a couple, family, group of friends, or you're flying solo, each experience is designed with your pace & interests in mind, combining scenic forest trails, stunning lookouts, wildlife interpretation, and an opportunity to slow down and soak up the incredible Algonquin views. Along the way, your guide will share stories of the park's wildlife, ecology, history, and hidden gems missed by the crowds.
This adventure is 3-4 hours in length and runs year-round.
