Whether it's little league, women's league, a bunch of friends getting together, or a three-day event, I can be there to capture the highs and lows and everything in-between!

Why hire a sports photographer?

Photographing sports well takes skill and the right equipment. A sports photographer should have substantial experience shooting in a variety of situations - from large crowds to more intimate venues and in all sorts of weather and light conditions. They understand changes in pace and light and can adjust on the fly. They anticipate the best positioning and make sure they're there. They concern themselves as much with the quality of an image as the content, so they use gear that can handle action and low light appropriately. Sports photographers also understand that the value of these images reaches farther than a memory captured. Images play an important role in coaching, as well as confidence-building.

Sports photographers don't worry about who wins or who loses - they are there to capture all the participants and all the action, which means you - the Mum, Dad, Sister, Brother, Teacher, Coach, Friend - can take it all in, cheer your heart out, and reminisce through these images that magically appear!

Why Helen?

My favourite way to watch sports is through the lens of my camera. To me, there's nothing as exhilarating as the action and the emotion of athletes at all skill levels doing what they love.

I started my career as a professional photographer shooting professional paintball. Yes, professional paintball! I travelled across the US, Canada and even Europe capturing images of this amazing, gritty, extreme sport. Yes, I got hit with paintballs. Yes, I was right in the action (okay, on the sidelines of the field, but inside the mesh!). Yes, it hurt. Yes, I did it again and again and again. I'm up for shooting any sport. Just ask!

Special Events

What is a Special Event?

Any event that requires planning! It could be a birthday, an anniversary, a reunion, a fundraiser, a sports competition, a news announcement, a concert, a graduation, a party, a trade show, a conference, a wedding, an engagement, a festival... any event you can think of!

Photography is an extremely important part of any special event. After all the hard work that goes into the planning and execution of an event, you want to make sure you have images documenting it! Not only is it a valuable tool to aid in participant engagement and the event experience, but also it can be used to help to promote future events. In addition, providing event sponsors with images of event signage and their products and services in action is a wonderful way to thank them for their support.

Special events require special planning, so I'm happy to provide a custom quote to ensure the service and products I provide fit your needs! Please contact me and describe your event, including the following details:

~ Event Name
~ Event Date & Duration
~ Event Location
~ Event Organizer(s)
~ Number of Participants
~ Service Required (e.g. photo journalism, awards ceremonies, posed portraits, candids)
