Private Photography Adventures

Just you and me -- and our cameras! Private adventures are perfect for those who prefer one-on-one time with a patient and knowledgeable expert who not only can provide comprehensive photography instruction, but who also is intimately familiar with the area and will lead you to the right place at the right time for incredible photo opportunities.

I understand you may not thrive in the dynamics of a small group, or might feel more comfortable going at your own pace -- no waiting for other, or others waiting for you! I design this time around your individual needs and interests.

These adventures include landscape and wildlife photography in Algonquin Provincial Park and Muskoka, but also more specific areas of learning such as photography fundamentals, waterfall photography, macro photography, post-processing/editing (Lightroom and Photoshop), and sports & action photography. I also offer any of my small group photography workshops and adventures to individuals, and private groups.

Small Group Photography Workshops & Adventures

I name the time and the place, and we meet as a small group of like-minded people, immersing ourselves in nature, learning photography hands-on, and enjoying laughs and adventures along the way. Workshops and small group adventures are suitable for all skill levels and will typically have a mix of levels participating. For novice photographers who feel they're not quite at the level of taking a workshop, please know that all truly are welcome! The whole point of a workshop is to learn -- and I feel you'll learn from others in the group, too. However, if you would like to maximize your time in the field, I recommend taking the in-class options in advance when offered, or consider taking a private lesson.

Workshop v. Tour v. Adventure -- What's the Difference?

Workshops involve small groups of people and learning. Whether learning is informally in the field, or during designated in-class time, there's an educational component. You should feel comfortable asking me questions because I'm there to help you.

Tours are when someone takes you to a designated place at a designated time. Generally, there is no educational component and the group size is larger. I don't offer "tours"...

I offer Adventures! It's about the experience of immersing ourselves in nature and capturing what unfolds before us. My adventures are based on extensive location scouting and knowledge of the areas we explore. They're flexible to allow us to switch things up and take advantage of the best opportunities based on current conditions, such as weather and wildlife activity. While adventures often include learning opportunities, it is always informally in the field. I offer photography adventures to small groups, as well as privately. And, most importantly, I customize them according to your needs and interests.

No matter which option you choose, I strive to provide a fun and comfortable experience where you don't feel shy asking questions, and don't need a dictionary to understand what I'm saying.
